Resilience
Why Minas Gerais?
A state marked by pain rises as a reference point for hope.
The REVIGORA BRASIL Program is an act of resilience, of rebuilding trust in the power of nature and innovation. The choice of Minas Gerais is not symbolic — it is strategic. Trauma is transformed into a driver of transformation.
The initial location for activities related to rewilding, forest preservation with the participation of Indigenous peoples, and bioeconomy activities is the Serra do Espinhaço Biosphere Reserve.
The REVIGORA BRASIL program will include the first biological collection of the Serra do Espinhaço Biosphere, which will play a fundamental role in research and development (R&D) of new medicines, acting as a biodiversity repository that provides genetic, microbiological, and botanical resources for the Biotechnology Hub.
The Serra do Espinhaço is the longest and most continuous mountain range in Brazil, functioning as the most important ecological corridor south of the Amazon region, with about 1,200 km of extension. Recognized by UNESCO, with 3 national parks and 170 cities in Minas Gerais, it connects crucial biomes (Atlantic Forest, Cerrado, and Caatinga) between Minas Gerais and Bahia, making it fundamental to national biodiversity.

From the Pain of Environmental Disasters to Innovation
Research activities, innovation, and incentives for sustainable economic development, required by Lei nº 13.540/2017 (CFEM), are the path to creating a new biotechnology industry. This industry will ensure new economic activities, sustainable development, and, at the same time, restore the ecosystems of Minas Gerais, especially the Serra do Espinhaço, which are at serious risk.
This industry will ensure new economic activities, sustainable development, and, at the same time, restore the ecosystems of Minas Gerais, which are at serious risk.
The Trauma Becomes Transformation
Minas Gerais stops being remembered only for tragedy and becomes a symbol of regeneration, science, and a green future.

Partnerships with Federal Universities
The major partners are the Brazilian federal universities, which join the program with scientists and technical teams through funding agreements with state research foundations.

The program encourages and supports national technologies for cryopreservation and reproductive genetics, valuing Brazilian scientific knowledge as a driver of innovation.
Carbon Nanotubes
The innovative technology of Carbon Nanotubes enables the precise delivery of genetic material, RNA, and chromosomes inside germ cells — a breakthrough in cryopreservation and species rescue.
How Nanotubes Save Species
CNTs function as non-viral vectors for delivering genetic material, including plasmid DNA and RNA, in a safe and efficient way.
Chemical functionalization of CNTs optimizes delivery efficiency and interaction with the immune system, allowing automatic needles to insert genetic material directly into germ cells.
DOX-SPRB-siRNA
An advanced system that uses nanotubes to deliver genetic complexes to the cell nucleus, enabling precise genetic editing to save species at risk of extinction.
